Disturbing footage has emerged featuring a kangaroo being chased down and killed with a piece of machinery off the side of a tractor.

The man appears to show intent to kill the kangaroo by filming the act and shouting “he’s mine - he’s f*cking mine”. 

Animal Justice Party MP Andy Meddick has written to the Minister for Environment stating that this disturbing act of extreme animal cruelty must be acted upon immediately. 

The Wildlife Act 1975 is currently under review in Victoria following an alarming increase of cruel acts to native animals - but more needs to be done.

We the undersigned are concerned about an act of extreme cruelty to a native animal, which must be urgently addressed.

Video footage has emerged showing a kangaroo being chased down and killed with machinery off a tractor. The government must address this immediately. 

More broadly, more needs to be done to protect Victoran wildlife from cruelty. Our native animals will never be truly respected while some can be shot for recreation, under permits and in so-called harvesting programs.
